Il fiume senza ritorno

 Ricordi quella canzone?

Mi scorreva per la testa mentre arrancavamo nel fango per arrivare al fiume, il fiume Fiastra che passa davanti all'Abbazia nel suo percorso dal lago nei monti Sibillini, e quando ho visto il fiume ho cominciato a fischiare la melodia.

Triste, potresti pensare, ma non è così

In realtà proprio il contrario

Eccolo qui, solo noi e il rumore del fiume e una cicogna, in bilico e curioso di sapere cosa potremmo intendere (come lo eravamo noi)

Un altro mercoledì d'arte, dove trascorriamo le mattine nella natura qui nelle bellissime Marche e ci immergiamo nelle sue meraviglie quando tutti e cinque i sensi prendono vita e prendiamo appunti visivi in ​​negativo (es. disegni un albero dipingendo o con matite colorate, tu riempi il cielo dietro di esso. Pensa a un negativo in bianco e nero da 35 mm)

Poi all'una torniamo al mio studio, prendiamo il nostro pranzo da asporto per Cinthia al bar e ci rilassiamo per circa un'ora.

Il pomeriggio ci trova a manifestare le nostre mattine da gazza trasformando queste immagini negative in positive.

THE RIVER OF NO RETURN

Do you remember that song?

It was running through my head as we trudged through the mud to get to the river, the river Fiastra which feeds past the Abbey on its way from the lake in the Sibillini mountains, and when I saw the river I began to whistle the tune.

Sad, you might think, but not so

In fact quite the opposite

Here it is, just us and the sound of the river and a stork, hovering about and curious as to what we might intend (as were we)

Another Art Wednesday, where we spend the mornings in nature here in beautiful Marche and become absorbed in its wonders when all the five senses spring into life and we make visual notes in  negative (e.g. you draw a tree by painting or with colour pencils ,you fill in the sky behind it. Think of a 35mm Black and White negative)

Then at 1oclock we head back to my studio, picking up our takeaway lunch for Cinthia at the bar  and relax for an hour or so.

The afternoon finds us manifesting our magpie mornings by turning these negative images back to positive.

Scoiattoli, tassi, volpi, ricci e istrici; una varietà di gufi e anche altri uccelli

 

La nostra avventura artistica del mercoledì a Morrovalle.

Siamo saliti in cima alla collina e ho bendato tutti gli occhi con istruzioni rigorose di non sbirciare.

Ho dovuto fare un salto al bar per un secondo lungo la strada e mentre entravo, Cincia, la proprietaria del bar, ha guardato l'auto e ha gridato "Perché tutte quelle persone sono bendate"?

È diventata piuttosto pallida.

Ho spiegato brevemente come meglio potevo e abbiamo continuato il nostro viaggio.

Si trattava di un nuovo parco nel terreno intorno al monastero duecentesco di San Francesco; un santuario degli animali selvatici che contiene animali, alberi e piante autoctoni, con spiegazioni lungo i suoi percorsi sulla vita, le abitudini delle creature che vi abitano e persino i valori medicinali di piante e alberi.

Eravamo gli unici umani lì.

Abbiamo iniziato con i nostri consueti esercizi sensoriali e ognuno è uscito alla ricerca del proprio posto sacro per assorbire il silenzio e le vibrazioni della natura; per fare registrazioni visive delle meraviglie in cui si sono imbattuti, da utilizzare nella nostra sessione d'arte nel mio studio nel pomeriggio.

Un rallentamento, un risveglio dei nostri sensi.

E quando ci siamo incontrati per andarcene, c'era un senso di tranquillità e tranquillità, credo che lo chiamerei.

Ci siamo fermati al bar per ritirare il nostro pranzo al bar sulla via del ritorno e mi sono scusato con Cincia per averla spaventata e sembrava ancora piuttosto pallida.

Abbiamo passato il pomeriggio a dipingere, in particolare a stampare, guardare il nostro lavoro e condividere storie.

Squirrels, Badgers, foxes, hedgehogs and porcupines; a variety of owls, and other birds too

Our wednesday art adventure in Morrovalle.

We drove up to the top of the hill and I blindfolded everybody with strict instructions not to peep.

I had to pop into the bar for a second on the way and as I walked in, Cincia, the bar owner, looked at the car and shrieked 'Why are all those people blindfolded'?

She went quite pale.

I briefly explained as best I could and we continued our journey.

It was to a new park in the land around the 13^th Century monastery of San Francesco; a wild animal sanctuary containing indigenous animals, trees and plants, with explanations along its pathways as to the lives, habits of creatures which live there and even the medicinal values of plants and trees.

We were the only humans there.

We began with our customary sensory exercises and each went out in search of their own posto sacro (special spot) to absorb the silence and the vibrations of nature; to make visual recordings of wonders they came across, to use in our art session in my studio in the afternoon.

A slowing down, an awakening of our senses.

And when we met to leave, there was a sense of ease and peacefulness, I guess I would call it.

We stopped at the bar to pick up our lunch at the bar on the way back and I apologised to Cincia for scaring her and she still looked quite pale.

We spent to afternoon painting, in particular monprinting, looking at our work and sharing stories.

Se scendi nel bosco oggi

 

E lo abbiamo fatto. È stata la nostra giornata sensoriale Art Studio, dove abbiamo esplorato i nostri cinque sensi nella magnifica foresta dell'Abbadia di Fiastra; un'avventura nell'arte durante la mattina di una splendida giornata di gennaio di cieli azzurri e sole caldo.

Dopo pranzo in una trattoria locale abbiamo riportato tutti i nostri bozzetti nel mio studio a Morrovalle e abbiamo dipinto le sensazioni che abbiamo provato dentro dalle vibrazioni vissute dopo la nostra mattinata di essere stati ospiti privilegiati degli alberi giganti della foresta

I nostri laboratori sulle montagne della Sibilla a Cittadella iniziano da maggio a settembre e comprendono pittura, poesia e musica gong, ed è lì che facciamo la nostra arte dal nostro assorbimento nella natura in questo paese delle meraviglie di laghi e antichi sentieri, santuari e antichi boschetti pagani.

If you go down to the woods today

 

And we did. It was our Art Studio sensorial day, where we explored our five senses in the magnificent forest of the Abbadia di Fiastra; an adventure in art during the morning of a splendid January day of azure skies and warm sunshine.

After lunch at a local trattoria we took all our sketches back to my studio in Morrovalle and painted the sensations we felt inside from the vibrations experienced after our morning of being the privileged guests of the giant trees in the forest

Our workshops up in the mountains of La Sibilla at Cittadella begin in May through to September and include painting, poetry and gong music, and ìt's where we make our art from our absorption in nature in this wonderland of lakes and ancient pathways, sanctuaries and old pagan groves.
